Artist Statement
Artist Statement about these Ink Blots:
"I, DG Wilson, am very excited about these works of art. I have been striving towards this level of articulation, balance and artistic interpretation of these Ink Blots for the last 17 years.
"I first created these unique monoprints in college to satisfy several assignments. I instantly saw great potential in them and continued to work on this series ever since. At the same time I always felt that the series was somewhat sacred and needed me to grow enough to really understand them. To do so I constantly worked on many other series as well as re-visiting these Ink Blots from time to time over the years. This year of 2011, I finally feel comfortable to tackle this series head on. I decided to focus as much as possible on my Ink Blots. This is my new series on this art form.
"Dr Rorschach created a dozen prints that were shown to his patients and friends. They saw things in the forms and the negative spaces. Based upon these observation the good Dr. realized there were patterns. I have taken these principles, for many personal reasons, and pushed them into artistic paintings that also communicate these same theories. But I also put in many other personal views about life into these paintings.
"I am fascinated in Quantum Mechanics of Atoms. I see now that science has caught up and proved the observations of the great saints of the world. Meditation really is the true key to enlightenment. These paintings are Portraits of Atoms because Atoms are ever changing to our visualization of our reality. In this way these paintings work within the theory of the original Ink Blots but at the same time they help you, the viewer and owner, understand more about yourself; where we came; and what we see as our reality.
"Further these paintings read differently when you look at them from varied distances. They also reveal new subjects to different people. When you buy one of these paintings or prints from the Masterpieces Art Studio you receive a copy of the original Interpretations of Responses. This helps you understand more about yourself through what you observe. You will be initiated into a secret that will help you understand more about others, based on what they see and where they see the images, in your paintings." DG Wilson

About the Artist DG Wilson
DG Wilson has always been a professional artist and one of the first if not THE first Artist Entrepreneurs. Currently DG lives out of his home with his wonderful family in Bed Stuy Brooklyn. The downstairs or basement (not that DG will ever call it that) has been devoted to the Masterpieces Art Studio. There DG does all his art from paintings to tattoos. It is his sanctuary and his place of business that is extremely close to home.
